A Guide to Panama City Beach Kid Activities Even Adults Will Love

kids at beach

Panama City Beach is a haven for families, offering plenty of things to do for the entire family. Panama City Beach kid activities range from waterparks to nature preserves to sweet treats. All ages will love Panama City Beach’s top attractions and activities, but we think there are a few that stand out among the rest.

Here’s our guide to the top kid-friendly activities along Florida’s emerald coast.

Our Favorite Panama City Beach Kid Activities at a Glance

Attractions & Theme Parks

Panama City Beach is known for its theme parks, attractions, and water parks. Slash around at Shipwreck Island Waterpark, play a round of mini-golf at Coconut Creek Family Fun Park, or swim with the dolphins at Gulf World Marine Park. Attractions vary greatly here whether you’re looking for an educational excursion or a playful afternoon. The kids are going to love Coconut Creek and Shipwreck Island, which feature classic family activities and fun.

Nature

If the kids are more into being outside in nature, there are two amazing state parks in the Panama City Beach area that offer accessible trails and scenic landscapes. St. Andrews State Park and Camp Helen State Park are both great for catching views of wildlife like migratory birds, reptiles, and mammals. St. Andrews State Park, in particular, is known for its pristine beaches, however, be aware that there are no facilities here and you’ve got to bring out everything you bring with you.

Fishing & Dolphin Tours

Another great family activity in Panama City Beach is a fishing or dolphin tour. Getting out on the water is among the best ways to explore the Florida Gulf Coast. Capt. Anderson’s Marina is one of the area’s largest facilities, offering deep sea fishing, charter boats, Shell Island visits, eco-tours, dolphin encounters, and more. Another company to consider is Jubilee Fishing, which offers full- and half-day excursions on a spacious double-decker party boat. Jubilee offers multiple timing options for guests.

Kid-Friendly Dining

Going out to eat is a must on vacation, and there are plenty of kid-friendly Panama City Beach restaurants to try. The good thing is that you don’t have to go to a kitschy restaurant to get a great meal for both kids and adults. Saltwater Grill, Front Porch, and Sharky’s Beachfront Restaurant all have menus for kids.

Don’t forget dessert either. David’s New Orleans Style Sno-Balls is a local favorite, especially on hot summer days. You can also get some quick counter-service food here, like hot dogs, muffulettas, and po’ boys. Thomas Donut & Snack Shop is, of course, known for its donuts, but also serves up a wide variety of burgers, sandwiches, kolaches, subs, breakfast food, and more.
